O.K. we've been away for awhile - actually KALI was in Portland working on Coarline (go see it) - luckily we had tons of opportunities to play up there - their live music scene is lively tons of clubs and gigs and good fun. We got to play with the amazing Spit Stix from Lickety / Fear / Sol-i who is a bad ass mo fo on the live drum kit D&B, also we played with Chachi (the Rig) the 2 piece soul motown monster as a McMinnimans house band and backing some MC's on freestyle battles - whew that was WILD.
Now we're back in SF and we've hooked up with Dr. Spook of geomagnetic and he was kind enough to think what we're doing is worthwhile - so much so that our record is coming out on their Bass Star label.

We are a dance band in the grand tradition of people we love like Duke Ellington, Fletcher Henderson, Count Basie, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Benny Goodman... its just that we play contemporary dance rhythms: House, Trance, Drum & Bass, Techno, Electronica, Dub, Progressive, Ambient. We are all traditional musicians playing both traditional and electronic instruments with classically trained techniques and aesthetics applied to modern forms and presentation. Specifically we employ live voices, guitar, bass, keyboards, percussion, and drums, with turntables, samplers, drum machines and sequencers. We combine these elements by running our own sound system creating a constantly evolving blend of song, hit, dub, remix, jam.
